Membership

WBB Big Band welcomes new members and invites you to join us at our band room, located here at 7.30pm on Wednesday nights. We have two levels of membership as follows:

    • Regular Member

        • A certain minimum musical skill and active participation is required as a precondition of Regular Membership. This level of skill and participation shall be determined by the Committee, in consultation with the other Regular Members and Band management. Regular Members can expect to have the opportunity to participate at all gigs and have full voting rights.

        • Annual Fee: $30

    • Affiliate Member

        • All members who choose to not become a Regular Member, or who do not meet the minimum skill level or participation levels for Regular Membership shall be Affiliate Members. Affiliate Members will be included at most practices and may have the opportunity to participate at gigs, but participation is not guaranteed. Affiliate Members do not hold voting rights.

        • Annual Fee: Free

Application Process:

  • Make contact with us and come along on a Wednesday night. If you are interested in joining us, send an email requesting membership and you will be accepted initially as an Affiliate Member. After 3 months, should you want to become a Regular Member then the Committee will process your application and advise accordingly.


Note: There is a natural limit on member numbers and the Band recognises that there is a value in a cohort of regular members. In certain situations therefore, a limit on Band numbers may need to be applied by agreement of the Committee, thus effectively closing the Band to Regular Membership. However, the Committee shall seek to facilitate membership for prospective members as far as possible, as determined by discussion with the existing Regular Members, to allow as many persons the opportunity to join as possible.
